Do you only repair the cars that are pictured on your website? No. We are experienced in the repair of all vehicles.

Do I need to make an appointment to bring my vehicle in for an estimate? No. We are open Monday thru Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. You are welcome to come by any time during our business hours and we will have someone available to inspect your vehicle.

How long will it take to get an estimate on my vehicle? Generally it takes about 20 minutes. However, depending on the severity of the damage, the time could vary.

Do I have a choice as to what auto repair shop I use for the repairs to my vehicle? Yes. It is your car and no one can tell you who will repair it. You may choose any auto repair shop to perform the repair. Trade Secret works with all insurance companies, should you select us to do the work. Your insurance company will provide you with a list of their preferred auto repair shops; however,you are not required to have one of them repair your car.

What should I look for when choosing a repair facility? Look for any factory certifications that the repair facility has earned. This insures that the technicians working on your vehicle have the training needed to complete the repairs to factory standards.

Do I need to notify my insurance company before my vehicle begins repairs? Yes, if you are expecting the insurance company to pay for the repairs. Your insurance company has a process to approvethe cost of repairs, parts and the timing of payments. We are not allowed to start work until the insurance company approves the repairs it is paying for. If you are paying for the repairs it is your choice ifyou contact the insurance company.

How do I obtain an estimate from my insurance company? First, contact your insurance company to set up a claim. They will give you instructions where to meet to inspect the vehicle for the estimate.

Do I need to receive three estimates? No. Call your insurance company first and they will instruct you on how to go about getting an estimate based on your policy and situation. Insurance companies have specific information requirements to accurately estimate labor rates and pricing for parts for your repair. Estimates without this information could cause the estimate to be inaccurate. This could cause a delay in the repair.

Can Trade Secret arrange for a rental car while my car is being repaired? Yes, we use Enterprise Rent-a-Car for our customers. Enterprise will pick you up from Trade Secret when you drop your vehicle off for repair. When you pick up your car, leave your rental car at our location and the rental car company will pick it up from us. Hertz Rent a Car is close by and we can arrange for the same service with them. If you need help making the reservation, we are more than happy to assist you.

Do I need an appointment when I bring my car in for repairs? Yes. You will need an appointment to drop your car off for repairs, so that we can schedule your repair and minimize the time the vehicle is in our shop. Contact Trade Secret at 972-596-9750 to set up an appointment.

What circumstances could delay the repair of my vehicle? Your service advisor will keep you updated if anything were to affect the estimated completion date of the repair. Some common reasons for delay in the completion of the repair are listed below.
  • The insurance company may take a couple of days to come out to look at the vehicle.
  • Parts are backordered or being shipped from out of state or out of country.
  • Additional damage is revealed upon closer inspection of the vehicle during the repair process.
Does Trade Secret ever report my car to Car Fax? No.

Who is ultimately responsible for the workmanship of my vehicle? We are responsible for the workmanship on your vehicle.

What should I do when I pick up my repaired vehicle? First, look over the vehicle thoroughly to insure that everything is repaired to your standards. Have your service advisor answer any questions you may have regarding the repairs to your vehicle. Once that is completed you need to sign any necessary paperwork required for the insurance company and pay the remaining balance.

How long is the warranty on my repairs? Body and refinish repairs have a lifetime warranty against defects. Defects caused by road hazards or acts of nature are not covered. Use of any product not recommended by the manufacturer on the finish will void the warranty.

Can I have other body and frame repairs unrelated to the collision repaired while my car is in the shop? Yes. We will repair anything you would like to be repaired no matter what the vehicle is in the shop for at that time. Please discuss this with your service advisor at the time you make your appointment.

When do I pay my deductible and how do I know how much it is? Your insurance deductible is due to the repair facility at the completion of all the repairs on your vehicle. Your insurance company will tell you what your deductible is based on the type of claim.

Who is responsible for the payment to the repair facility? The owner of the vehicle is ultimately responsible for the payments to the repair facility. You may contact your insurance company and ask them to send the checks to you or the repair facility directly. If they send a check to you, you will be responsible for that amount at the time you pick up your vehicle.

After I pick up my completed car, when can I wax my car? We recommend you wait at least thirty days to allow adequate time for the paint to completely cure.
